Inventory management often appears deceptively simple, but unlike accounting, which operates within a well-defined set of rules and conventions, inventory processes are rarely standardised. In most businesses, inventory management is bespoke – shaped by sector-specific dynamics, operating models, and even leadership preferences. And in many cases, it becomes the single most critical driver of operational efficiency and business success.⁣

What comes in (as raw material), when and how it is received, where it is stored, how it is processed, how finished goods are handled, how warehouses are structured, and how logistics are managed – there are innumerable variations, each with its own nuance. That’s what makes designing inventory systems both challenging and exciting.⁣

Over the past decade, we’ve built inventory management solutions across a wide range of sectors – from Iron & Steel to Fashion to FMCG to Pharma and more. Each of these systems has been built ground-up, informed by deep research into the sector, the business, and the specific operational context.⁣

Building on those learnings, we’re working towards what we call India’s Inventory Stack – starting with our platforms: Stockflow, OmniSKU and Crest.⁣

This week at Ascent, we upgraded OmniSKU to run as a multi-tenant SaaS platform – taking a big step towards making robust inventory management capabilities available to a much wider set of businesses.⁣

We love inventory.⁣
And yes – we’re here to MIGA: Make Inventory Great Again!
